The Active IQ Mental Health Awareness training is perfect for those who enjoy blended learning, part online and part live chat online, this course is an important teacher training working through how to recognise signs of mental health and how to how to give mental health first aid. As mental health is becoming more open and apparent, it is important to make sure that you are ready to be able deal with any situation.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with an understanding and awareness of mental health, common mental health disorders and issues, help reduce stigma and discrimination and encourage people to talk about mental health. Furthermore, the qualification should provide learners with the ability to apply their knowledge of mental health through recognising and responding to the signs of mental ill health in themselves and others and be able to offer mental health first aid to people experiencing mental ill health.
This course is part E learning and a 1 days 4-hour live chat with a trainer, you can book a training and work through the online sections and once completed a trainer will contact you to set up a chat day.

As this is an external course, you will be sent your online portal information via email. This course is a personal course and so will you will work closely with you assessor.

Online learning will be 2 parts and will cover
This course will cover the following conditions:
• Depression
• Anxiety disorders: stress, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder
• Schizophrenia
• Eating disorders: anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa
• Addiction and substance misuse
• Bereavement
• Self-harm

This training is an Active IQ Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness.
